Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Harrow

Man with Van Harrow is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our own operations and our wider supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers associated with Man with Van Harrow.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy to modern slavery in any form. We will not knowingly engage with, or support, any organisation involved in practices that constitute modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, or human trafficking. This commitment is reflected in our internal policies, supplier expectations, and the way we deliver our man and van services across Harrow and surrounding areas.

All individuals working for or on behalf of Man with Van Harrow are required to act with integrity and to uphold our ethical standards at all times. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action or termination of business relationships.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Harrow provides transport, removals, and related logistics services. While our direct workforce is relatively small and locally based, we recognise that modern slavery risks can arise through indirect arrangements such as subcontracted drivers, vehicle leasing, fuel and equipment suppliers, and other third-party services.

We expect all suppliers and partners to share our commitment to ethical labour practices and to comply with all applicable employment, human rights, and health and safety laws in the countries in which they operate.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

To reduce the risk of modern slavery within our supply chain, we undertake proportionate due diligence before entering into new supplier relationships and when renewing existing agreements. This includes assessing a supplier's location, industry sector, and known risk factors relating to labour exploitation.

Where appropriate, we seek written confirmation from suppliers that they prohibit modern slavery and human trafficking and that they maintain robust processes to identify and mitigate such risks. We reserve the right to conduct audits, request supporting documentation, and seek clarification where we have concerns or where higher risk has been identified.

If a supplier is unable or unwilling to meet our expectations, we will consider corrective actions, up to and including termination of the business relationship.

Staff Awareness, Responsibilities, and Training

All staff are expected to read and understand this Modern Slavery Statement and to remain alert to the signs of potential exploitation in our operations and supply chain. Managers are responsible for ensuring that those they supervise understand their obligations and know how to raise concerns.

Where relevant to roles, we may provide additional guidance or training on identifying and responding to suspected modern slavery, especially for staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and subcontractor engagement.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Everyone working for or with Man with Van Harrow is encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery at the earliest opportunity. Concerns may relate to our own operations, suppliers, subcontractors, or any third party connected to our services.

Reports can be made to a line manager, a senior manager, or another trusted point of contact within the business. We take all concerns seriously and will investigate them promptly and sensitively. Whistleblowers will not suffer any detrimental treatment for raising concerns in good faith, even if they are ultimately found to be unsubstantiated.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that the risks relating to modern slavery may change over time as our business and supply chains evolve. Accordingly, this Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually to assess its effectiveness and to identify opportunities for improvement.

As part of the annual review, we will consider feedback from staff, review any incidents or concerns raised, evaluate the effectiveness of our supplier due diligence and audits, and monitor changes in best practice and relevant legislation. Where necessary, we will update our procedures, training, and contractual arrangements to strengthen our approach.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Harrow and represents our ongoing commitment to act ethically, uphold human rights, and play our part in the global effort to eradicate modern slavery.
